[New Vid] 2D to 3D Concept Development

Hi Reader, -- David here from SketchLikeAnArchitect.com

I’ve just published a new Youtube video showing how I use design sketching for quick architecture concept development using Procreate on iPad and Sketchup.

In this video I’m going to break down my process of going through

  • quick and rough 2D sketching,
  • to isometric view,
  • developing a basic 3D model in Sketchup,
  • all the way to a perspective sketch and a simple presentation layout of the whole idea.

In the video, I use my custom-made Procreate brushes I’ve been developing for my work, commissioned visualizations, and book illustrations over the last 2+ years.

The brushes are designed to mimic real-life tools like pencils, pens, markers, watercolor and more as closely as possible.

If you're interested in my Procreate brushes, click here to be notified once they're released!

In the video, there’s quite a lot of techniques covered in just 10 min so please if you have any questions or if you’d appreciate more detailed explanation on any part of the process,

just hit reply to this email or let me know in the comments on Youtube, thanks!

Cheers,

David Drazil

Hi Reader, -- David here from SketchLikeAnArchitect.com This Monday we wrapped up the Urban Sketching Retreat in Prague - a week-long experience of sketching my home city with my good friend Alán Ramiro from See The Lines. 9 sketchers from around the world, 2 instructors, and sketchbooks everywhere. I'm writing this on Friday and I'm still sorting through all the photos, sketches, and memories. Here are my favorite moments from the week. We sketched a different spot every day. Letná Park. Hi Reader, -- David here from SketchLikeAnArchitect.com I’m writing this on my way to London for the ATN Influence Day. A conference bringing together some of the most popular architecture influencers. A full day of talks, panels, and meeting online friends in person. And I’ll be honest. I still can’t believe I get to do this.(I’ll be sharing my experience on Instagram Stories over the weekend) A few years ago, I was sending out job applications in Copenhagen, Denmark. Over 100 rejections. No...
