I keep a special folder of these

Hi Reader, -- David here from SketchLikeAnArchitect.com

To me, these are priceless.

Some arrive as a long email. Some as a comment under a video, late at night. Some as one line and a thumbs up.

Years ago, someone recommended me to save such messages. For the rainy days, as a reminder of the why behind what I do.

So I have - I keep them all.

To you Reader - it might be proof that it's possible, that you can do it, too.

Here are five from the last few weeks.

Terri has been sketching cities for years. People were still the part she skipped.

They’d quit. Years ago. And then one video brought them back.

One lesson. Not the whole course, not some big finish. Lesson 3, on perspective and scale.

This one is from a long-time student. The message came in as a reply at ten at night. Sixteen words. I’ve read it many, many times over.

Lastly, a newest review of my old Domestika course:

Many of these messages are actually about the same thing. Perspective. Drawing people. Getting more confident. Overcoming similar challenges that we all face.

Nobody here said they got more talented. They said that something clicked, and then they kept going.

That’s really all it takes. Twenty minutes on a Tuesday. One video you almost scrolled past. A sketchbook you opened again after months of not opening it.

So if you do one thing this week, make it small. A doorway. A café chair. The corner of your own room. Fifteen minutes, nobody has to see it. Just for yourself and your progress.

Not long ago, I stopped stashing these messages in my virtual drawer. I took the public and official ones and put them on this Wall of Love. There are hundreds of them now.

If you ever need proof that people like you figured this out, it’s all there.

PS. Fair warning, the Wall of Love is a long scroll. Architects, students, retirees, people who hadn’t drawn since school.

See how many of them sound like you ;)
