Hi Reader, -- David here from SketchLikeAnArchitect.com Don't know about you but I'm always a little anxious around this time of the year... I want to get closure on the year that's about to end... Sort through the gazillion ideas racing through my head... and forge them into great plans for the upcoming 12 months... while getting some rest at the sime time! 🤯 That being said, I've been wrapping up the 2024 for the last couple days and this is what I came up with... Probably not a perfect reflection, but hopefully the most important stuff made it here. Do YOU do yearly recaps? Looking back, reflecting, seeing what went well and what not so much?
If you have any favourite process, tool, or resource for such end-of-year reflection, please, let me know!
Below, you can read about (arguably) the most important and relevant things that happened in 2024 under the Sketch Like an Architect project, incl.:
Disclaimer: I’ve realized that these yearly recaps are here for you just as much as for me. Looking back at the past years, it’s a much needed reminder of the journey we’re on.
Annual reviews from past years:

📈 Investments in business or myself I still believe that investing in myself is the best kind of investment I can make and improving the SLAA is a part of it, to create even better educational experiences for you.
#️⃣ Community Growth in 2024

❓ What’s coming in 2025? Glad you asked! Actually, YOU get to weigh in on this! As the Sketch Like an Architect project is very much audience- or community-driven, I like to ask YOU about what you'd like to see. In one of the next emails, I'll share with you how you can help us decide on the direction for the coming year ;) Lastly, I want to sincerely wish you the very best in 2025, hoping you win in any and every area of life you choose to focus on! Happy (sketching) New Year!
PS. If you fancy any of the trainings mentioned above, don't forget to use the code XMAS20 for subscriber-exclusive 20% discount. The code expires on Dec 31st, 11:55 PM Pacific time.

Hi Reader, -- David here from SketchLikeAnArchitect.com This Monday we wrapped up the Urban Sketching Retreat in Prague - a week-long experience of sketching my home city with my good friend Alán Ramiro from See The Lines. 9 sketchers from around the world, 2 instructors, and sketchbooks everywhere. I'm writing this on Friday and I'm still sorting through all the photos, sketches, and memories. Here are my favorite moments from the week. We sketched a different spot every day. Letná Park. Old...
Hi Reader, -- David here from SketchLikeAnArchitect.com 3 things for you before the weekend - a new video on drawing people, a personal story about rejections, and community wins from your peers. 1/ My new YouTube video is quietly becoming one of my most-watched videos this year (50,000+ views and counting), so clearly I'm not the only one who used to avoid drawing people. Hi Reader, -- David here from SketchLikeAnArchitect.com I’m writing this on my way to London for the ATN Influence Day. A conference bringing together some of the most popular architecture influencers. A full day of talks, panels, and meeting online friends in person. And I’ll be honest. I still can’t believe I get to do this.(I’ll be sharing my experience on Instagram Stories over the weekend) A few years ago, I was sending out job applications in Copenhagen, Denmark. Over 100 rejections. No...
